Christmas Day, 2007
Dear Turners,

Wow is an understatement! The Dragon House is better than any resort, period. Our stay here far exceded our expectations and dreams. We'd love to come back.

Anne and I had the pleasure of traveling around the entire Island. The only recomendation that we did not get to was the Secret Beach, so we have to come back .

Now here's Anne's scribe.

Thank you so much for opening your home to us. We truly enjoyed the stay. This is our first time to Hawaii and we enoyed the house and Island. We spent many hours enjoying the ocean and albatros. We even gave it a name. All the people, birds and wildlife were so friendly. We saw more whales sitting on the deck than we did on our whale watching cruise!

Thank you once again for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home and enjoy our tropical Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Mahalo,

Anne and Craig

Aloha Richard: We absolutely love the Dragon House and our time in beautiful Kauai! The pictures don't do justice to just how beautiful your home and view are. I especially loved all the little extras you provided--everything from candles, flashlights, binoculars, games, your computer, even the sewing kit. We left some extra flippers to join the other snorkel gear. The appliances, dishware, linens and towels were all top quality. But what we loved most was sitting on the lanai, listening to the beautiful birds (very few chickens) and watching the whales every day of our visit. We loved the feeling of privacy that the jungle gulley in front of the house provided .We barbequed a number of times (Scott loves your BBQ--we filled the propane as it was low) We spent all of our times on the North Shore, there was so much to see, we didn't get much further than Papa's beach (very beautiful--a must see). Most of our time was spent in the water. We got up early each morning and would head to the beaches. Our favorites ended up being Tunnels, and Ke'e. If you got there early you could find parking in the close dirt access roads. Queens Bath was spectacular, unbelievable lava formations. Well worth the walk. The kids went swimming there ( I was a little intimidated). Sea Lodge beach was beautiful also, we saw turtles and a seal there. Another great beach was Kaliwaha(?). We took a few random trips up roads and loved them. We of course spent time in Hanalei. Scott plays Harmonica, and after a dinner at Hanalei Gourmet, we went to Tahiti Nui the night of his birthday. The great surfer musician Mike Love invited him to sit in with him, so he ended up playing for an hour or so. Great way to meet the locals. The next morning we went to the Lone Pines surfing championship. We enjoyed all the restaurants in town, and had breakfast most mornings at the Wakeup Cafe. One day Pierce Brosnan was eating there with his kids. We bought our fish for BBQ's at the Dolphin Fish Market, wonderful selection. We hit a couple of Farmers Markets--what fun that was! Met lots of interesting people there. Valentine was awesome. Took us a day or so to find her (right in plain sight on the front lawn) She is soooooooo cute. And we got to see the Mamma one day, coming home to feed her. She is about the size of a bowling ball now. Thank you so much for the book your friend brought by (except we forgot the book there--could someone send it to us?). That was such a nice gift. My son Brad and his girlfriend Heather loved it so much that they decided to stay for the summer. She is in her last year of med school, and they thought a summer in Kauai was just the relaxing thing she needed. The bought a large van (they brought all their camping gear and a tent) and we had alot of fun teasing them about their purchase of their "first home". They bought camping permits for Annini beach for the first couple of weeks, but may move up to the Haaena area. She was offered a job at the Hanalei Colony resort. There appears to be lots of jobs available. We are jealous--they get to stay in Kauai! We can't wait to come back, and hope to make the Dragon House our home again. We will definately stay longer next time. Thank you again for the use of your lovely home......we miss it............................. Mahalo, Elizabeth and Scott
